Elena Roos terminerà la sua carriera da sportiva d’élite dopo la stagione 2023. La 32enne ticinese correrà i suoi ultimi campionati del mondo ai CM casalinghi a Flims Laax. Nella staffetta è diventata campionessa del mondo e europea, il suo più grande successo individuale è stata la medaglia d’argento nella sprint ai campionati europei a Neuchâtel.
Dal 2015, Elena Roos è parte della nazionale élite di C.O. Ha vinto in totale cinque medaglie ai CM e ai CE. Tra i suoi più grandi successi contano i titoli nella staffetta ai CM e ai CE 2018 e nella sprint relay ai CE 2018 e 2021, così come la medaglia d’argento nella sprint ai campionati europei 2021 a Neuchâtel. Ora, la 32enne ticinese ci proverà questa stagione un’ultima volta a livello internazionale. In occasione della conferenza stampa della squadra svizzera dei CM, Roos annuncia che terminerà la sua carriera di sportiva d’élite dopo la stagione 2023.
CM casalinghi a Flims Laax come ultimo grande obiettivo
“La decisione è stata presa da molto tempo. Il momento è quello giusto per me. Ho potuto vivere molti bei momenti nello sport d’élite. Ora, con i CM casalinghi, vi è l’ultimo grande obiettivo per me”, ha detto Elena Roos riguardo alla sua decisione. Ha indirizzato tutta la sua preparazione verso i campionati a Flims Laax dove vuole correre per le medaglie. Terminerà però la stagione 2023 con un turno di coppa del mondo in Repubblica Ceca e con i CE sprint in Italia dopo i CM. “Sono contenta di potere godere queste ultime gare internazionali senza troppa pressione e di potere vivere ancora una volta le molte emozioni dello sport d’élite.”

Come sarà il futuro di Elena Roos è ancora aperto. Tutta la sua concentrazione è attualmente indirizzata sulla preparazione per i CM. È già chiaro che dal 2024 diventerà allenatrice della selezione giovanile ticinese e sarà parte della squadra di allenatrici/ori dei CE giovanili. “Sono contenta di avere un nuovo capitolo della mia vita con meno viaggi per campi di allenamento e più tempo per amici e famiglia.”
Elena Roos correrà ai CM di C.O. a Flims Laax la gara long di giovedì 13 luglio, così come la staffetta di domenica 16 luglio.
